Seeing a major need for primary care in the populations we serve beyond West Philadelphia, we used a portion of our Projects for Progress funding to start a van-based mobile primary care clinic. This is staffed by physicians from Penn Med and provides more comprehensive primary care services at our different shelter locations on a rotating basis, in order to diminish the barrier of transportation for the populations we serve. In addition to a range of primary care services, we also provide COVID-19, influenza, and Tdap vaccinations when in season.
